Manufacturing

At the IUT of Cachan, I regularly practice production during TD and TP.

I regularly use 3-axis milling machines and 2-axis lathes, then in parallel 4-axis milling machines, 5-axis and 3-axis lathes.

Here are some of the things I can do:

Realization of manufacturing ranges and phase contracts

  • Therange of manufacturingprovides the technical information needed to manufacture the part. It is written after the CAD of the part.

During aSAE(learning and evaluation situation), I realized the manufacturing range and the phase contracts of a part called nuts.

 I was able tolearnat :

  • Define the dimensions of a blank before machining.

  • Determine the machining steps required to manufacture the part.

  • Choose the correct positioning of the part.

  • Choose tools adapted to the machining step.

  • Determine cutting speeds, depths of cut and allowances.

  •  Lephase contractallows you to detail the machining operations of a defined phase and to set all the machining parameters (cutting speed, depth of cut, DEC). It is carried out after the production range.

Programming the machining:

  • Create the stock on the part

  • Place the chuck in the machine

  • Choose the tools to put on the turret (according to the phase contract)

  • Create the desired machining step by inserting all the parameters found on the phase contract

  • Make a check to check that the machining is going well and that the part is machined as desired

Plantpart:

  • Deburr the part if necessary

  • Calculate the DECS (offset = distance between the workpiece carrier origin and the program origin)

  • Measure gauges tools

  • Mount the tools on the turret (positions found on the phase contract)

  • Insert tool gauges

  • Import the CAM file to the machine

  • Perform a machining simulation to see that the program is well configured

  • Mount the jaws (choose soft or hard jaws depending on the machining step)

  • Make a vacuum machining to make sure that everything is well configured (no risk of collisions, correct tool paths).

  • Mount the part in the chuck

  • Machine the part

Correction of gauges tools

TD done in progress

  • Measure machined parts to identify deviations from the average dimension

  • Determine the parameter(s) on which it is necessary to intervene to approach the average dimension

  •   Calculate the correction on the designated parameter(s)

Make a part, following these steps:

  • Realize the manufacturing ranges and phase contracts

  • Carry out the CAM of the part on the desired machine

  • Machine part

  • Correct tool gauges
